ZIMFEBI INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL BIRA:
-Is a recurring exchange program / event designed to celebrate and promote cultural development and experience.
-We want to strengthen relationships and build a bridge to Africa through exchange programs between different cultures.
-ZIMFEBI 2007, launched the first time at Parksnäckan Uppsala April and later at Alvik 1 Dec in Stockholm & 2007 @ Hijazz 7 Dec Uppsala.
-The objective of starting ZIMFEBI is to get Zimbabweans, friends and interested members of the community in Sweden together at a positive and happy event once/three times a year (August/September/October) to celebrate and share aspects of our Zimbabwean culture and promote awareness of music from Zimbabwe, Sweden and other nationalities.
-There is also a chance to show the unique Zimbabwean traditional music, to entertain the inhabitants of Zimbabwe, Sweden, Europe, etc.
-ZIMFEBI would encourage to increase the awareness of peace, cultural promotion, relationship between different nationalities.
-ZIMFEBI wants to use music and culture to strengthen relations and build bridges between Zimbabweans and Swedes and other nationalities.
What are the future projections of ZIMFEBI?
-To be a self sustaining event financially and in all other respects.
-All those who are willing to participate and contribute to the growth of this initiative are most welcome.
Among our aspirations is to sponsor Zimbabwean, Swedish and other musicians, dancers and artists to come and perform at this event annually.
-ZIMFEBI an annual summer event where Zimbabweans and friends will meet on a weekend.
-Everyone’s culture is important in its own right and knowledge and respect of it provides a sound basis for understanding, mutual respect and enjoyable.
-We also plan to hold various activities such as traditional music workshops and hold open air exhibitions of traditional arts and crafts.
-ZIMFEBI work with various organizations, with young people and adults who are interested in international music, dance, children's story and drums and live music.
